So whats been happening latley in my life, well i meet up with Edward Jones again in town which was nice and the next day we went for a lovely drive around Riverview and stopped off at the gazebo, we had a lovely chat and i got to know more about him.

He told be about his daughter Sarah Jones, and how she was tragically killed when her car was forced of the road, by a drunk driver who was on the wrong side of the road. Her car swerved into the river where she and her fiance drowned. It was so horrible to hear that he lost his only daughter when she was only 28.

He then went on to tell me about his 16 year old Granddaughter Florence who has lived with him ever since her mother died when she was only 11. It must have been so hard to grow up without your mother and father, i just cant imaging living without you mother and father; it must have been to hard for her as a child.

We sat in the gazebo for a bit longer and talked some more. We shared some stories about our childhood and where we had grown up, he had lived in Sunset Vally until about 16 years ago when he moved to Riverview after Sarah left school, so they could start a new life after the death of his wife from cancer. The poor man really hasn't had a great life first his wife dies and then 17 years later he loses his daughter. The evening draw on and we continued to talk untill about half 7 when Edward took me home, before he left i invited him and his Granddughter Florence over for dinner the following week. If this waas becoming serious i wanted to meet his Granddaughter.

The next day Bertha came round to get all the gossip for the day before, we decided to have a picnic in the garden which was nice, we caught up on everything that was happening around town and who was doing what and where. Bertha and I are the town gossips, were a couple of people watchers, the classic curtain twitches if you want, if we don't  know watch happening then its not worth knowing about.

The following week went past rather quickly with nothing much really happening, Bertha popped round a few times for dinner and watched a bit of TV, gossiped some more - the usual really. I did speak to Edward on the phone almost every other night and we arrange for him and Florence to come for dinner on the Wednesdays. I would be nice to finally met Florence. A few hourus before they were to arrive i put the dinner in the oven and set about cleaning the house, yes i know its very unlikely they will use the shower but it has to be clean.  so i cleaned the house got ready checked the dinner and before i knew it they were here.

I welcomed them both inside and showed them too the kitchen, we had spaghetti bolognese for main and cookies and ice cream for dessert, one of my favorites. Florence politely asked for some more dessert while Edward decided to read the paper. Oh and what a delightful girl is Florence, she has such manors and is so pleasant to talk to, she is just starting collage and is so excited to do so, she isn't sure what she wants to do yet, but i'm sure whatever she does she will be great at she is a very intelligent girl.

I'm really enjoying reading about Betcy's life -- it's such a refreshing change of pace. There just aren't enough stories about elders out there! It's great that Betcy finally got to meet Florence, and it sounds like she and Edward are developing a lovely friendship. Very clever to work that crashed car into the story. I look forward to more!
